This was inspired by a true story of a woman that tried to keep her home and fought against it being bought out from under her. I'm pretty sure she eventually lost, but at the time, they were "trumped" by her actions. Also, i created this in 2005, and something VERY similar is part of the Movie "Up".

A sad story told by great art is the most effective. Bravo, Christopher! This is now so common in cities all over the world with the underhanded dealings of developers and sometimes corrupt government or city officials. Your's is a strong bold statement against this. LOVE this, and I love the movie UP as well ! Big fav, vote and SU!

Oh my Christopher, this is delightful, and your concept is wonderful...dynamic and powerful artwork here!

Beautiful work, very sad story. Something similar happened here because of the new Dallas Cowboy stadium. Imminent domain is a joke.

Hi, Cris...thank you for your kind words and the favorites of my artwork... I really enjoy this style of art..the bold contrast of color, the simplicity of the lines..which in itself demands skill and talent to pull it off,..just a great work...very creative..very good!

Thanks again, ...this was fun to do and i've got so many more of this line that i'm still working on.

I read your description, and you really made your point with this painted adaptation on the theme of the little guy being trampled on by the big city developers. unfortunately this happens everywhere these days. I love the simplicity of your colors and the dynamic use of line.. Beautiful piece.
