I drew this in 1983 after seeing an ad in a San Diego newspaper for a contest from a company looking for a Cartoon Cat. My Cats name is CHESTER, it did NOT win the contest, though i personally believe they borrowed the Name from me as well as other desirable parts from other entries and created a "mixed breed" if you will, and he went on to be quite famous selling a certain CHEESY Snackfood. Now so far i cannot prove that this is what happened, but i believe it to be true.
